We have the facility to electronically and anonymously send accounts to be analysed and compared with any other accounts that carry the same business description.

The business description is arrived at by reference to a SIC code.

The number of similar businesses compared is dependant upon the number of similar SIC codes that have already been filed.

The results can be analysed nationally or restricted geographically.

The benchmark report produced compares each business with:

a)   A number of other similar businesses, and

b)    The same business’s performance in the previous year.

The report will cover important areas like gross profit and turnover growth, and helps businesses understand what their competitors are achieving compared to their own. It is a very quick and useful way of taking a view over an entire sector.

It can be useful if, for example a client thinks that their poor performance is due to the fact that the entire industry is in decline. Benchmarking their performance against the other industry companies will either confirm their thoughts or give them a rude awakening.

We send out a brief benchmark report as a matter of course to many of our clients, and then further more detailed analysis is available at a meeting if requested.
